I have a friend who lost insurance due to Covid in Jan. 2021 and decided to move to Mexico. He moved there last month and said that he had to jump through a couple hoops to leave the U.S. but becoming a citizen was pretty easy otherwise. He now works as a day laborer and rents a small flat near the beaches of Tulum in Quintana Roo. He gets complete coverage through Mexico’s Public Healthcare System and he loves it. He still has to pay for dental, prescriptions, what’s called “medical necessities” like crutches/wheelchair etc.” if he ever has to have major operation BUT he worked here as a pencil pusher in a basic corporate cubicle job and says that Mexico is a great place to live, laid back, and the work-life balance is splendid.
Has anyone ever thought about abandoning the US for greener pastures because of high insurance? Or re you completely happy with your insurance?
