I’m New to Adulting, Please Help Me

So, I’m 19 (just turned 19 on the 10th of this month) and I recently fled my abusive parents home and moved to a new state and am currently unemployed. I have cut my parents off and I don’t want to talk to them. But, I’m on their insurance. Specifically, on my dad’s job’s health insurance (and I have my insurance card, luckily). But I’d like to switch from this plan to Medicaid, as it seems to have better coverage and I’d like to further separate myself from them.Does anyone know how I could go about removing myself from their insurance? Do I need to remove myself theirs, or can I be on both their insurance and Medicaid? I believe I’ll be removed automatically from their insurance after a year, unless they add me to it again.I’m very confused and know very little about this stuff. I’m going to keep Googling this stuff, but I do want to hear others’ thoughts and opinions, too.
