Is there an incentive for a pharmacy to bill Medicaid vs another insurance company?
I was on Medicaid for a couple of years while I went back to school. Recently I got a temporary job that offers health insurance. Medicaid is now my secondary insurance. Several times now when I’ve filled my prescriptions, I’ve tried to give my pharmacy my new insurance information, but they won’t take it. Literally. They say “it’s ok; Medicaid covered it.” I try handing them my new card and they will not touch it. Why?
