My father is going to get money from an injury settlement ( he’s disabled now-stroke). His income will increase and he’s going to lose Medicare. How long until he can re apply ? The injury settlement won’t last forever so I’m curious what his options would be for health insurance. Can he re apply to Medicare after the funds are depleted and he just collecting disability
The special needs fund doesn’t seem like a great plan. He doesn’t go on vacation, he doesn’t buy things and he can’t drive. He spends his money on his other son (who’s also disabled), going out to eat and on rent. So his options for spending are insanely minimal.
I was thinking he gets personnel health care coverage and then apply to Medicare again once he spends his money or transfers it to my brother.
