Insurance issues

Hey everyone. My story is long and pretty complicated.

I’m currently on Wisconsin Medicaid. On the 21rst of November I went to the pharmacy to get my medication. I was denied and they wouldn’t let me pay with cash. The pharmacy told me that I was listed under multiple insurances so my Medicaid wouldn’t cover me. I called Medicaid and told them that wasn’t true because I didn’t think it was. So I returned on the 23rd of November on received my medication.

The the 15th of December my therapist emailed me telling me that she was denied for the same reason. I have an amazing therapist. So she gave me the number of the insurance I was Listed under as well as the plan I was listed under.

I was Listed under Unitedhealthcare employer insurance. I was an 18 year old run away and do not speak to my father unless I have to. Unitedhealthcare told me I was enrolled through my father’s work. They told me I had to be unenrolled through the employer

I called my father’s human recourse department asking to be removed. They told me that my father had to unenroll me and that I couldn’t do it myself.

So I called my father whom I have sever PTSD from. I can’t be around him without shivering and shaking. I convinced him to unenroll me. He called his work and successfully unenrolled me through his work.

His work told me I was unenrolled but unitedhealthcare told me I was still enrolled. So I called unitedhealthcare and pressed them further on the 21rst of December. They told me that they had contacted his employer and they were working with them to update my information through unitedhealthcare.

I just called unitedhealthcare today and the told me that their latest record was for the 15th of December, that non of my information was updated, I am still enrolled and that his work would need to call their enrollment center.

So I just called his work and left a message relaying the information.

I’m not willing to use my father’s insurance. He has been to court for numerous felonies I know he committed.

His work claims I’m unenrolled, unitedhealthcare claims I’m still enrolled

If I’m unable to fix this situation, will I have no way of getting my prescription I the future? If I dropped Medicaid but was still registered under his insurance, would I be alowed to pay out of pocket?

Do I have any legal options?

Is the only thing I can do, harrass his work and the insurance company until something happens?

I have a 3,000$ appointment on January 4th. I’m scared.
