Hello I have a question about Medicaid and my work insurance. I was unemployed for a time at the end of 2018. I live in IL and was on food stamps and Medicaid, I have been employed since January of 2019 and once I was employed I let the state know to discontinue my food stamps and Medicaid. Now heres the tricky part they cancelled my food stamps but every 6 months I get a letter letting me know my Medicaid has been extended and I can continue to use it. Now through my employer, I have Cigna. Long story short my question is would it be illegal for me to use Medicaid since they cover weightloss surgery but my private Cigna insurance does not?
