Looking for some advice for new seniors

My parents are new to the US and looking to get health insurance – both are one year shy of turning 65.

They reached out to an insurance agent who has told them that they must make a decision by tomorrow however they premiums are very aggressive.

Any input you can provide on pricing specifically would be hugely beneficial.

I am on Aetna and would prefer it as their network for simplicity.

Details below:

Community Health Choice, no subsidy applicable.

CHC 001 GOLD $0 deductible $8150 max out of pocket $2502.17/mo Plan Summary of Benefits: https://www.communityhealthchoice.org/media/3296/27248tx0010001-00-2021.pdf

CHC 005 GOLD $2000 deductible $8550 max out of pocket $2285.25/mo Plan Summary of Benefits: https://www.communityhealthchoice.org/media/3311/27248tx0010005-00-2021.pdf

CHC 003 BRONZE $7700 deductible $8550 max out of pocket $1797.16/mo Plan Summary of Benefits: https://www.communityhealthchoice.org/media/3300/27248tx0010003-00-2021.pdf

Bronze is the most popular plan because if you notice above – in a catastrophic situation your maximum out of pocket is relatively the same on all plans. ($8150 or $8550). Out of pocket maximum always INCLUDES the deductible.

Regardless of plan if you have a million dollar bill you are still going to be out of pocket an additional $8150 or $8550 (in addition to the premium paid).

You would select BRONZE or GOLD, silver you would not select as GOLD is less money than a silver plan.

As previously stated Community Health Choice is the only selection to include Methodist and has the largest and most comprehensive doctor network available.
