My wife and I live in MA and have Aetna PPO/HSA. We hit our deductible and max out of pocket a few months ago. We had twins two weeks ago and out max out of pocket increased from $4,500 to $6,000. Aetna is now charging us the $1,500 difference for services rendered during my wife’s pregnancy, e.g. ultrasounds and blood work. Can they retroactively do this? Or should the max amount be satisfied at $4,500 since that’s what it was when these activities happened.
