MD health conection – are you eligible for tax credits if your spouse can get affordable indicidual health plan through employer

Hello, I’m helping my husband fill out the Maryland health connection eligibility form to get health insurance since he’s getting a new job that doesn’t offer any health insurance. My employer offers health insurance even though I’m not using it since I’m on my parents still. We got a bit confused on the question regarding access to affordable insurance, while I know I technically do (A single plan for just me is below that 9.8%, tho the cost of me and him as a dependent added on would be higher I think) does that apply to him as well? It mentioned coverage through your spouse so we selected yes he is eligible for affordable employer sponsored insurance, and he lost his eligibility for the tax credits/financial assistance. Did we do that wrong? Can we still apply for the tax credits after selecting the “health plan without financial assistance” option or do we have to file an appeal now? Or did we do it correct and he isn’t eligible?
