Medi-cal request for information

Hello everyone. Warning, this is a bit of a long read so apologies in advance.

I’m moving to CA from IL at the end of this month to live with my girlfriend’s family. I’ve already applied for Medi-cal through coveredca and my gf said I got mail back from medi-cal requesting for more information.

The form is asking to send several verifications by May 31, 2021. One of the the verifications it’s asking me to provide is proof of residency, but I won’t have any documents with my name and new address as soon as I move there. Is there a quick way for me to get a document with proof of address? The letter came with a seperate sheet from Placer County Human Services Division with my name and new address. Would that work?

The form is also asking me for self employment income/expenses as well as unearned income (child support, workers comp etc) which doesn’t apply to me. Is it alright if I don’t send those? I can’t anyway, but it’s required for some reason.

I’m trying to move things along ahead of time as I’m a newly diagnosed diabetic who is insulin dependant so even more so for me to try to take care of getting health insurance quickly.

More background if needed. I’m a college student and work as a Lab Assistant part time, but of course I won’t have new work yet when I move (though I have applied to several job openings already). I usually have insurance through my university, but unsure how that would work since I’m moving. I’ll be able to keep attending the same school (my classes are online), but the school health insurance has specific pharmacies and hospitals in it’s network I can use which are only in Illinois.

So overall trying to make my way through all this is a bit overwhelming. Any help, advice, or anecdotes is appreciated.

Thank you for your time
