MEDI-CALI HELP

Hello all. I have been without insurance for about 8 months now since I was booted off of my parents by their insurance. I have been fine without insurance for a while, however just found out 2 weeks ago that I am pregnant. I was looking to get insurance when I discovered for the rest of this year I should be able to qualify for Medi-Cali. Next year, probably not. But I should still qualify for the Medi-Cali access program which is specifically for pregnant people.

Anyways, I applied a week ago and just received my BIC card with no other information. I am supposed to be choosing between two plans to apply for within the Medi-Cali system. I have already made my decision on which I’d like (one is remarkably better for pregnancies) but can find ZERO information on how to actually get it… any information would be greatly appreciated. It states i have 30 days to pick or one will be pricked for me. The other plan has about half of the coverage for pregnancies and would not be nearly as beneficial so I am hoping it won’t come to them picking for me.

I am waiting to get covered in order to find a doctor in order to schedule any appointments. I am almost 8 weeks so looking to go ASAP.

On another note: should i just go get checked by any OB regardless? I don’t want to wait until after the first trimester to even get an initial checkup on everything. I know you are supposed to stay with the same doctor, but I’d rather at least get an initial “everything is ok” than nothing.

Please please help with ANY info you may have

Thanks in advanced 🙂
