My wife and I had a baby this year and are all 3 on her company’s insurance. I just started a new job and have the option to join my company’s insurance and get off of hers. The most cost effective plan for us is for me to be on my own insurance and my wife and baby stay on hers.
The only thing I’m unsure of is that we have already met our family plan deductible because of the birth and a minor surgery this year. So would it be smart for me to stay on the current plan and enroll in my own healthcare next year when our family deductible gets reset?
Tl;dr: Should I get on my new companies insurance even though we’ve already met our family deductible on existing insurance?
Thanks in advance for any help with this!
