Alright my situation is interesting. I moved from NYC to California (SD) a little over a year ago, but due to the pandemic haven’t had a job and have just been staying with my fiance’s family. I don’t have any written proof of residency, and I am looking to get health insurance here in California instead of using the New York one. I still have insurance in NYC (i have medicaid), and do some virtual appointments. I wanted to know: should I cancel the NY health insurance plan and then start looking for insurance plans in Califnornia? Or should I find and get a plan in California first, and then cancel the NY plan?
