So basically as the title says, my doctor gave me refills of this very expensive medication right before my insurance changed late last year. My insurance changed earlier this month, and I picked up the medication for the first time today. Did my new insurance pay for the medication or did my old insurance?
The reason why I ask is because my doctor doesn’t know my insurance changed over the new year. Thus I don’t want to get hit with a surprise bill for the cost of the medication if my old insurance chooses not to pay for it since it’s the new year. Is this a relevant concern?
My receipt does say that my insurance saved me 95% of the cost though. But I just need to be sure that the insurance company won’t change its mind
Please tell me if you have any clarifying questions because I know this question is kind of confusing lol
