My insurance, Staywell, is merging with Sunshine Health and I need info.

Hi… So I(35F) am on SSI and Medicade. I got a letter this week from my insurance, Staywell, explaining that it is merging with Sunshine Health. Does anyone have experience with Sunshine Health? I am concerned because six years ago I briefly switched from Staywell to Ameragroup and it was hell!

I have bipolar disorder and during that time I had to drop my abusive psychiatrist and find a new doctor. It was hell because for a year I would get a runaround trying to find a new doctor while dealing with the worst depression cycle in years. I ended up attempting suicide before I could go back to Staywell and find a good doctor. That whole year I would contact doctors from the Ameragroup catalogue only to be told the doctors don’t accept that insurance. I don’t want to find a new doctor and I definitely don’t want to go through that BS again.

I have been pretty comfortable with Staywell since then and I guess I am just looking for any info that I can get on Sunshine Health and what anyone’s experience with them was like.

I am weary due to my experience with Ameragroup and if Sunshine Health wont be a good fit, I would need to find new insurance. Any info and advice for this transition would be nice. Oh, I live in FL btw.
