Need assistance in disputing a claim

(Maryland, USA)

Hello. I’m not sure I’m in the right place. Please point me in the right direction if possible.

I went to Urgent Care for a tiny splinter on my arm. The doctor literally looked(didn’t touch or physically examine) the wound. No exaggeration, the whole interaction didn’t even last 2 minutes. She prescribed me antibiotics and sent me on my way.

What I’m trying to figure out or dispute is the insane amount that they charged me with. My provider was charged $401.00 and I have to pay $290! I just wanna know what I can do to appeal or dispute this claim. My whole issue is the fact that they’re charging me this insane amount for a 2 minute interaction. I already called my provider and they want me to submit a written claim and mail it to the appeals unit. I’m currently in the process of doing that. Is there any other information I can give to help my appeal?

Thank you for your help.
