I got a EOB from blue cross blue shield saying the amount I “might owe” is $921 from an ER visit. Then, I got a letter today (one day later) that was an appeal letter that said the claim is $4000 from that same visit and that the insurance company is looking at the appeal (that the doctors office sent).
Someone explain this please. I have not had much dealings with health insurance until now so I’m unfamiliar with what this means. Which one matters, the EOB, or the appeals letter?
Should I be expecting multiple EOBs from this place this week in the mail? I was at the er for a couple of hours, had allergic reaction to a medication I took but I understand those places can get really expensive.
