Need help picking insurance plan – Los Angeles, CA

I live in Los Angeles, CA 90025, 38F, and am currently on an Oscar Silver 70 Select EPO. Never had any major health issues, so it wasn’t that much of a concern to me, until now. I suddenly have an undiagnosed problem with an enlarged thyroid and I am afraid there will be many doctor’s visits, specialists, and possibly surgery in my future.

I have been looking at Oscar’s other plans, and am wondering if it would be wise to upgrade to a Gold plan, so I would have a 0 deductible. Also, I would really like to have UCLA Ronald Reagan Hospital and Cedar Sinai in-network, which from their website is only the case with their Silver 70 Circle EPO plan. (I do not, however, see a 80 Gold Circle plan, so I don’t know if I can have both a zero deductible *and* the option of those hospitals).

But I’m also wondering whether it may be smarter to switch to another provider altogether, since I have heard some horror stories of Oscar being horrible about covering stuff. In that case, does anyone have any recommendations? Does anybody have any experience with Oscar and their coverage?

I did some research into other providers in LA, and even though the LA Health plans are way cheaper and sound great on paper, their reviews are absolutely abysmal, so that one is out. Maybe Blue Shield, or Kaiser?

Any and all advice would be super appreciated, as I have until January 31st to switch. Thanks!
