New Job, better pay…worse insurance.

I started a new job. The previous place was less pay, verbally abusive and the commute was long. They did however cover my insurance for my family.

I left for a new job that pays a bit more, is closer and closes early Fridays. However the insurance plan is expensive. I pay 10% of my own cost, however I have to pay the entirety for my spouse. The mid tier plan works out to about $300 a week. The also offer a cheaper ($150 per week) plan but it’s a high deductible and I’ve never used one.

Side note, they offer free life insurance and a cheap dental plan but also a tax free supplemental plan (it has free virtual docs and prescription savings and will assist with ER visits etc. My zip is 11763.

The state has plans (NY) but they are also expensive and it’s difficult to navigate. Plus our combined income (120k) doesn’t help with a discount.

I dont know what to do, I’m kinda freaking out. Maybe I made a bad decision.
