New to insurance and I have no idea what to do!

Recently turned 26, and yeah you get the drill. Due to having a heart arrhythmia I have to take a certain medication, and I’m worried now that I don’t have health insurance, I won’t be able to find a Dr. to prescribe me my maintenance medication. I tried to apply for Medicaid, but was denied supposedly because I don’t live in the state I applied for, but I do. (Kentucky) I currently do not have a job and can’t find employment, it’s been a huge struggle for me. I went through the marketplace as well to see what monthly payments would be but it was super expensive like $300 a month. Is this just what I’m stuck with? Paying that much wouldn’t be as big of an issue if I had a job, but like I said I’ve had no luck. I’m kind of freaking out because if I’m not able to get my prescription my life is going to get super messy.
