Not sure why I’m ineligible for the health insurance tax/income credit.

I live in NY. I was comparing plans on the healthcare website and as a part of that I could put in my income to see what kind of assistance I would get and how that would affect my premium. It took $200 off my monthly premium which is a huge deal for me.

Then when I go to apply for the marketplace (I’m about to turn 26 but haven’t yet), I put in my expected income as instructed and it’s well below 400% of the federal poverty line but I’m told I’m not eligible for assistance and now have to pay the $640 a month premium for the plan I need (a silver plan due to health expenses I have). This is not affordable for me and I can’t figure out what’s causing it. I will call the number they listed for help tomorow but is anyone familiar with this issue or know what would cause it?
