NYS Healthcare Coverage 2021- increased income and coverage impact

Hi,

I am currently enrolled through Medicaid, specifically the New York State healthcare plan. My plan coverage expires 10/31/2021. Until now, my income was $0 (graduate student), but I just accepted a per diem job offer that will have me making at least $1600 a month. I know I need to report my new income within 30 days of starting this job. I am worried I will lose my currently free healthcare coverage and have to enroll in an expensive private plan due to this increased income. I spoke with someone at NYS healthcare on the phone who said I will not be kicked off Medicaid and I will not have changes to my plan despite this new income. She said this was due to the pandemic, and I will continue to have my same coverage and plan through the plans expiration on 10/31/21. I was just wondering if someone else can verify this information, or point me to a resource online that can verify this info because it seems too good to be true.

Thank you.
