Hi, so I’ve been on Medicaid all my adult life and now will get booted off b/c new job pays a bit above poverty line + benefits. I live in California. I would ask my father but he’s biased with Kaiser. My issue is, I am a chronic illness patient and I don’t know if a HMO would take me seriously. My new job is offering me these plans:
Medical: • Blue Shield SaveNet HMO 20-500 Per Admit
• Blue Shield Access+ HMO 20-500 Per Admit
• Blue Shield Full PPO Combined Deductible Value 10-1000
• Kaiser Traditional HMO 20
Dental: • Aetna Dental HMO • Aetna Dental PPO Low & High Plans
Vision: EyeMed Insight Network
Kaiser is cheaper ($1,500/$3,000 max in a year) compared to the Blue Shield ($2,500/$5,000) but I’ve never had a HMO. Which would be best for me, PPO or HMO?
I’ll edit if y’all need more info. Thank you
