Hello,
My wife went to an Orthopedic Doctor in Northern New Jersey for her hand/finger pain mostly related to mouse overuse. He prescribed her medication and gave her a Wrist Brace (on amazon they go for $15-25). At the time of her visit, they informed my wife that it will be covered by insurance and she paid her co-pay for which she has a receipt. After few weeks we get billed by the doctor’s office for the brace and they applied the co-pay for the brace rather than the doctor visit. On enquiring with the office they have no answer for the co-pay and why we owe them money for the brace when we were first informed that we will not have to pay. The charge for the brace is the deductible of the insurance plan which is understandable. So the question is should we eat the cost (around $90+) or is there a resource that we can utilize to fight the charge. Not trying to be cheap but seem totally unfair when we were informed that there will be no charge. All help is appreciated and Thank You for your help.
