So a few months ago I got too intoxicated at a party, suffered alcohol poisoning and was unconscious and had trouble breathing. My friend called an ambulance because he was concerned for me and etc. I was billed $400 from Aetna but I called the ambulance company today and they said it was $2000? I’m wondering why there is such a significant difference and if I can somehow appeal. This was an emergency situation and I was fully unconscious so I couldn’t even make sure the ambulance was in network. How do I reduce the amount of this bill?
