“Out of Pocket” confusion

Hi,

I have highmark bcbs health insurance and am in pennsylvania if that effects anything!

My plan has the term “out-of-pocket limit” and “out-of-pocket maximum” and I can’t figure out what the difference between these two terms is. Every time I google it these terms are used interchangeably. But on my health insurance it says that my “out-of-pocket limit” for the year is 2,500 but my “out-of-pocket maximum” for the year is 14,000.

Does anyone have any idea what these two terms mean in this context??
