Pay period?

Apologies if the flair is incorrect. Please let me know if there’s a more appropriate one to change to.

My parents are looking for health insurance plans from my dad’s work and saw that the annual premium comes to be around $900. The website said that the pay period amount is around $300 and that there are 3 pay periods left in the year (it didn’t specify for this year or next year).

My dad is paid bi-weekly. Does this mean that 3 of my dad’s paychecks throughout the year are going to be reduced by $300? My mom is confused because she thought that meant that every paycheck will have $300 deducted, but then wouldn’t that mean that he’ll pay over the $1000 annual premium in just 6 weeks?
