Pls help me

Hello, my father (diabetic) is in need of an orchiectomy for an unknown mass that may/may not be cancerous. It was advised that he upgrade the plan should it be cancerous to help cover treatment cost. He currently has Healthnet Bronze 60 enhanced care PPO, currently paying $134 for 3 people. The urologist that was planning to do the surgery will only operate in a certain hospital, therefore in order to be able to be taken there, then he’d have to be upgraded to blue shield gold 80 trio HMO (am open to other options). The cost would then rise from $134 to $840. I want to know if such an increase is worth it in the long run, considering he’d be given more coverage. I reside in California.
