My insurance with current employer ends tomorrow and my new insurance kicks in March 1st. So gap of about 15 days. I have an appointment next week that will likely require a prior auth…so I’m planning to activate COBRA for a month to pay for this appointment. However…COBRA paperwork won’t come in for a few weeks and then I will need to send it back with a check.
So the question is…how will this work? How is prior auth approved if I’m no longer on the plan (even though I’m activating COBRA?). Is there a way to expedite the activation of COBRA?
Thanks!
