I got some blood work done back in June. My doctor wrote me a prescription for about 15 tests. I went to Quest and got my blood drawn.
.
I got an email from Quest saying a bill was ready.
Total: $15,343.36
Insurance Response:
Policy maximum met, patient has reached coverage limit (exceeds $$ per year)
Insurance Payment/ Adjustment Amount $2,753.14
Owed Amount: $12,590.22
I checked the Claim and EoB on my insurance provider’s website. They paid Quest $199. It says my responsibility is $0.
Quest Diagnostic is in network and on my insurance’s website it says I pay $0 for lab work
I called my insurance company on Thursday. I was told someone from Quest would call me and that I could file a grievance if I wanted to. I called Quest today and they told me my insurance company would sent me “an updated EoB”
I guess at this point there’s nothing I can do but wait for them to get back to me but I’m really freaking out about this. Even if Quest offers a payment plan, this is an absurd amount of money.
Does anyone have any advice or anything? This whole ordeal is giving me a lot of anxiety and it’s hard to concentrate etc
