I’m looking at marketplace plans and probably will get a bronze plan with a fairly high (for me!) deductible. I don’t have routine health issues except ongoing psychotherapy. One of the companies I’m looking at has my therapist in network and has three different bronze plans. One of these plans covers mental health care before the deductible is paid and the other two don’t, among other differences. I’m currently private-pay with the therapist and he charges me about half his regular rate. If I chose one of the plans where mental health isn’t covered before the deductible, is he still free to charge me the discounted rate while applying my payments to the deductible? I’d ask him, but he’s on vacation and I’m hoping to pick the plan soon.
