My insurance only has telehealth coverage if I use their LiveHealth online. These days doctors are doing consults and follow ups online where possible. Even though the exact same visit that I can see my in-network doctor’s office for in person can be handled online, I am billed because it gets coded as telehealth. Not only that, but I get billed the same price even though no one took my BP, or had to wipe down my table or anything else. These bills caught me by surprise and I think it’s ridiculous since Covid shifted life to be more virtual-friendly.
I know my only recourse is to ask the medical providers to code as office visits (which doesn’t feel inaccurate since they are expecting the same price) but this whole process is a PIA. Ugh.
