Risk Being Insured for December?

Located in NC. I was only allowed to choose 1 flair.

I will lose coverage 1 December due to turning 26. TriCare (plan I am on through my parents) does not have COBRA or an affordable extended plan.

I am turning 26, relatively healthy. Recently tested negative for covid.

I am eligible for 2021 health insurance through my employer. I haven’t researched options for what to do in December. We have our open enrollment soon.

A few questions…

1) Should I forgo insurance for December and just go to urgent cares if necessary? Or get a short term plan for just in case? I would be traveling between states for the holidays.

2) even though I am eligible for insurance through my employer, am I eligible for plans through my state market place? I’ve been looking at BCBS plans that I am interested that are a tad bit better than my employers current plans.

Thanks in advance.
