sooo I go today to pick up my rx…. as I have done for like 2 years with the same insurance company. I wait til the last minute…also as usual.
Today I stopped in expecting it to be ready bc it always is and it wasn’t, they told me to wait which is fine but I came back 15 mins later and they tell me my insurance isn’t covering it and I have to order it by mail.
WHAT IS THIS? they seemed familiar with it but no one has told me this before. it’s mental health meds and I have none left so I am kind of freaking out bc I know I cant stop it suddenly without feeling AWFUL in 2 days. I dont know how I missed this terrible update. I guess its a change for this year but how am I just finding out nearly 4 months into the year????
how does this even make sense and how did I miss this? I did look through my benefits and I saw that I *could* use mail order, but it wasn’t clear that I had to. kind of freaking out because I have 1 day left to figure this out and theres no way theres time to mail it. The pharmacist said I can call tomorrow when member services is open to request they allow it to be picked up….praying they do.
I have Aetna choice POS and card has CVS Caremark logo. I work for a good company I have no idea why they would allow this inflexibility on something so important. I pick up my scripts at Walgreens… if I switch to CVS would that change things?? seems like it shouldn’t matter. Of course no pharmacies are open now. mail just doesnt work for me id have to open a PO Box. Packages frequently go missing/undelivered at my apt building and id rather not have this concern all the time with something that important.
