TLDR: Looking for a recommendation for health insurance in NC for 25-year-old. Married. Will have one income from spouse, but am unsure if cost of living loans that have to be paid back count as second income for purpose of filling out application. Vyvanse coverage a plus but not required.
Hello! I am 25 and am starting a Masters’s program in February. The program does not allow its student to work so I had to quit my job, thus losing my health insurance plan. The school also does not offer health insurance. Due to the timing, I am unable to enroll with my husband’s health insurance as the period has already ended and we do not meet the circumstances to enroll outside of the open enrollment.I am trying to look on healthcare.gov for some options, but I am a little confused about entering the income. I will not be getting an income from a job, but I will be getting a GradPlus cost of the living loan (of which I will have to fully payback plus interest), so I am unsure as to whether or not I should just put my husband’s income for our household, or if this loan I will get counts as income despite me having to pay it back? I am also just looking for general recommendations, as the sheer number of options is quite overwhelming. I do take Vyvanse so that being covered would be a bonus but is not required.
Any help is greatly appreciated, and thanks in advance!
