Hello, apologies if this is a basic question, but I’m trying to get clear on a nuance of how ACA subsidies are determined. I’ve been employed up until mid April of this year, and will be enrolling in an ACA silver plan (one spouse no children) to start May 1. My income so far year to date would put us outside of the range where we’d be eligible for a subsidy, assuming that the “clock” for annual income started January 1. But, I expect to have negligible income for the rest of the year. My question is: is the income test for subsidies as of the Calendar year (started Jan 1), or as of the Benefit “year” (to start May 1)? We live in MN. Thank you.
