Hi, What are any websites or resources to research for family health insurance options.
My family is myself + spouse + teenage boy. We live in NY state (NY 10570). Both my wife and I are 45+. I work in financial services as a manager and my wife is a realtor. We are all US citizens. Our combined income won’t qualify for any discounted plans like ACA. We are all in excellent health with no pre-existing conditions, we regularly exercise, all non-smokers, etc.
I will be exiting my present work and will need to decide on an insurance plan in the next 2 months (around April 1st). COBRA is an option but I was surprised to find out that COBRA will cost approximately $2600 per month and dental is another approximately $160 a month. I have been thinking about starting my own business which would mean no company sponsored group health plan for an extended period of time.
I would like any advise on how I can research for a more cost effective option other than going to each major provider’s website like United, Aetna, etc. Nothing is cheap in the NYC metropolitan area and the Aetna plan that I have from work is excellent but $2600 a month seems excessive given that we are all healthy.
Any help or guidance would be appreciated.
