Switching Health Insurance with Severe Ongoing Health Concerns

Hello fellow /Redditors, I am looking for advice for a recommended health insurance company in California based on my particular situation.

Long story short: I am dealing with a variety of health conditions since “recovering” from my intial onset of covid earlier this year. My issues mostly pertain to gastrointestinal problems, chest pains, and blood clots.

I’ve been covered by Kaiser all year and while they were dismissive at best, negligent at worst about my issues early on, now that more studies about the horrific effects of post acute covid / long covid are coming out, they have recently been referring me to specialists within the Kaiser system (finally got a cardiologist referral after multiple ER trips and no help from gastroenterologist or rheumatologist)

Regardless, I have been very unhappy with how this company has handled my health sprial at this point and I think the best call is to switch to a company that will take my health issues seriously, order tests as needed, and more quickly refer me to specialists that have a better understanding of how to help me. I suppose I should mention that I’m by no means rich, but I am willing to pay what it takes to get high-level care to get my health & life back on track.

If anyone has had a particularly good or bad experience with a different insurance company please feel free to chime in, as I am hoping to make my decision this week. Thanks in advance!
