Can anyone help me navigate how Tricare as a secondary insurance would work? I’m thankful Tricare Prime covers all of my costs but I’ve found it limiting with some conditions. Specially there is a medication my doctor wants me to try but Tricare doesn’t want to cover it. I have the opportunity to get insurance like Blue Cross, but then Tricare will become secondary. So how exactly does this work? If I see a doctor that is in network with Blue Cross but they don’t accept Tricare, will Tricare help cover anything? Same with the prescription I need – will Tricare help pick up any of the costs if it’s not in their formulary?
