I (20 male) am under my fathers health insurance policy offered by his employer. I was working on my car and I got something in my eye. I went to the walk in clinic and they could not remove it so they transferred me to the ER. They were able to remove it. According to the statement of benefits issued by UMR they didn’t cover anything. My only previous experiences with UMR were traditional office visits with my family doctor or the walk in clinic. I now have an expensive bill for the ER visit. I am questioning if I should just get my own insurance policy, as I don’t want a future emergency to not be covered. Thoughts?
