unsure how to proceed…

short verson… Health insurance TPA changed 11/1. Same coverage, etc. Baby born last week of October. Did NOT have new insurance info at that time. Fast forward to now, Hospital still hasn’t billed the correct insurance. They keep billing the OLD TPA. Over and over. I’m getting worried. What are the ramifacations and likely outcomes of this?

Long version.. I have contacted the hospital billing dept many times via email and telephone. I have explained to them that the coverage has not changed, just the TPA. All they have to do is bill the correct TPA. They say “OK, we’ll get it taken care of.” Then they bill the OLD TPA again.. and again. I’ve called them, they have called me. The last time I explained the whole thing again and at the end of the phone call the lady said “What is a TPA?” I felt like laughing and crying at the same time. I even contacted the current TPA.. they reached out to the hospital in early January but still nothing has been billed correctly. They keep billing the OLD TPA, so all the claims are rejected due to lack of current coverage.

I don’t know what to do… I have literally begged them to bill the right insurance and they seem unable to do so.

Any advice would be much appreciated. I know I’ll owe some money since its a HDHP and thats fine… just bill my insurance first, right?
