So, I turned 26 last year and am no longer on my parent’s insurance. Finally getting around to signing up for WA medicaid program Apple Health, which requires you to have a wahealthplanfinder account. I’m signing up for the account and put my info in (i.e. ss number, birthday, name) and it asks me to verify my identity. Have no issue until it asks me about “previous employer”… one of the options for me to select is my Dad’s company he used to work for a couple years ago. I never worked there though.
My parents have their own marketplace account that they/we had a plan on until my Dad got a new job with health insurance last year. I asked my parents if I need to use their account to sign up for apple health but they are insisting that since I’m 26 and they no longer have a market place plan that the account is closed and there’s no reason for me to even try to log in and check.
I’m afraid if I choose wrong on the identity verification question for my own account that I’ll be locked out and it will become a bigger headache. Anyone have a suggestion? I might just end up going to dshs and asking for help their but would prefer to avoid that if possible.
Really need to get on this because one of the meds I take I have an assistance card from the company for, but it requires me to have a health plan to use it, and I don’t have $300 a month for this prescription that I would have to pay without the patient assistance program 😞
Also a side question, just because I live with my parents doesn’t mean I count them in my household for calculating income anymore since I’m 26, right? Confused there too =/
Thanks if you read and can reply 🥺
