Hey guys. Sorry I did go thoroughly through the search ..
I left my job on the 17th then was diagnosed with thyroid cancer. Hooray. I read all up on COBRA and informed HR I am interested. Yesterday, they informed the paperwork will be on its way.
In the meantime I have been attending a lot of doctors appointments, because my understanding of COBRA is that it’s retroactive and even if I’m not technically “covered” right now, once I opt in I will be and my claims can go through insurance.
Is this correct?
I have a surgery coming up and obviously want insurance to pay for it.
