I am seeing a psychiatric nurse practitioner that works through a corporate mental health service entity and I recently got onto a new health insurance plan and needed to have my prescription drug that pre authorized under this plan. It has been more than a week since I informed the PNP and his office about this and provided all my insurance info but I have yet to hear anything at all about whether it went through or not or if they even bothered to submit the request to my insurance company. This is a huge issue for me because I vitally depend on this medication and am running out of it because of this long wait. What do I do?
Update: Quick follow up on this, his office did not even bother to send the request for pre-auth. Which was what I was suspecting. It is so frustrating! And now I am being told it could take up to 15 calendar days from today to get an answer about whether or not the pre auth was accepted.
