Looks like I’m headed toward an ACA plan. For all of my adult life, I was on PPO plans but now I’m going to be on an HMO.
I’ve heard horror stories but most horror stories get a bit viral because they’re so outlandish. But is it as bad as some say?
What can I expect? Will I need to physically see my PCP for everything in order to get referrals? What is the referral process like? What if I already have relationships with doctors before I joined the plan?
Any stories and tips on how to navigate the system will be helpful.
I’m probably getting a Gold plan from Aetna/CVS.
Thanks, all.
