SWIM doesn’t have insurance currently. Suppose they suspect something could be wrong with their health, and gets it checked out by an ENT and pays out of pocket. If SWIM tries to get health insurance in the future, will insurance companies be able to know that SWIM saw an ENT, and will they know the outcome of their visit? In other words, what exactly do insurers know about our past, and how do they know it?
