Hi I’m helping my gfs family apply for marketplace healthcare through getcoveredNj, and I’m confused on who I should list as dependents on the application.
My gf is still in school so has low income but files independent because she lives with me most of the year and doesn’t get any support from her parents. However, I know that even though I’m not a dependent on my parents taxes I’m a dependent on their health insurance until I’m 26. So unsure if they should file together or separate.
They also have a child in the house that qualifies for Medicaid so they wouldn’t be seeking coverage. I’m not sure if they need to be listed.
