I have moved three times within three months and lost track of things. I was on Medicaid in CT in November, then moved to VT at which point my partner submitted an application for me for VT Medicaid which started January 1st, but I did not remember/know to cancel CT Medicaid. Now I have moved to MD, and cancelled the Medicaid from VT, but just realized that CT Medicaid is still active. I have not yet submitted a Medicaid application for MD.
I was going to call and cancel it tomorrow, but I’m a bit scared that I am in trouble somehow? Should I be truthful and say that I have been out of that state for two months, or simply say that I am cancelling today because I moved this month. A part of me thought that when signing up for Medicaid in VT, my CT Medicaid would automatically be cancelled, but I now realize Medicaid is not at all connected state to state.
I’m very nervous about this, so any advice would be greatly appreciated.
