I am a non-resident alien in the U.S. on a F-1 student visa. As part of the F-1 visa, I am allowed to work for 1 year in the U.S. on OPT work authorization. I graduated in May this year and am currently working (independent contractor so no health insurance through work). I was able to extend my health insurance with my school until November 15, 2020. I start my permanent full-time job on December 7, 2020 (government job with health insurance benefits). I am currently without health insurance and want to get health insurance between today and the date I start my new job. I tried to look up some plans but they all start on December 1, 2020. What options do I have? Any help is greatly appreciated because I am absolutely lost when it comes to this kind of stuff.
Also, I don’t know if this information helps, but I am originally from Canada and currently working/living in Illinois.
