Wrist splint

I went to a doctors appointment and got told I had carpal tunnel and needed a wrist guard, they told me they could give me one in office to which I asked if it would be covered under my insurance, they left the room for about 20 mins and checked my insurance. I was told it was going to be fully paid. Today I received a bill in the mail from them for $133, they billed my insurance $440! If I thought I was going to have to pay I would have bought the same brace at CVS for $20. I called them to complain and tell them I was told it was fully covered, the lady told me it was my responsibility to know my insurance and she’s sorry they said that but they can’t do anything. I understand that I should have looked into it but when I was told they were going to why would I double check? Now I don’t mind paying some but $133 is insane. Is there anything I could do?
